It looks like Hollywood actress Salma Hayek is going to have a hard time seeking justice for her beloved dog, Mozart. The animal was shot dead at her Washington state ranch last week after the dog reportedly trespassed onto a neighbor's property.

According to TMZ on Monday, law enforcement involved in the case say that the neighbor had a right to shoot the dog due to "extenuating circumstances." Apparently, Hayek's neighbor had long complained of her dogs roaming onto his property, which apparently happened each time one of Hayek's caretakers took her pets for a walk.

Furthermore, the neighbor said that several of Hayek's dogs were in his garage on the day that Mozart was shot dead. The neighbor said he had no intention of killing any of the animals, but simply wanted to use a pellet gun to scare them away.

Police have since closed the investigation since the dogs were on the neighbor's property. Many commentators, though, are pointing the blame on Hayek, calling the Hollywood actress "irresponsible" and a "bad pet owner" for allowing her dogs to roam off of her property in the first place.

Many critics have said, "Sorry Selma, but its not like it was a first time, control you're animals, you have no problem controlling those beauties from escaping, give the same attention to detail on the pooches," along with, "Sorry that Mozart died because of an irresponsible owner . . . Salma needs to put up fencing to keep her dogs in."

Another critic wrote, "As much as I love animals, he did have every right to do what he did. We have leash laws where we live and if a dog comes on our property and causes problems we have the right to shot it also. My dog doesn't go out of the house without a leash. She and her caretaker should be fined. I feel bad for the dog, not the owner."

So far Hayek herself has not responded to the criticism. Stay tuned with Enstars for all the latest updates right here.
