The Wildcats are officially coming back.
On Tuesday, it was announced that High School Musical 4 is finally in the works. According to USA Today, the film just started a nationwide cast search and Teen Beach Movie director Jeffrey Hornaday is attached to direct.
President and chief creative officer of Disney Channels Worldwide Gary Marsh made the announcement on how stoked everyone is to bring the Disney trilogy back for another story.
"High School Musical is part of Disney Channel's DNA," Marsh said in a statement. "It embodies all that we stand for. As a way of continuing to embrace that heritage, we're excited to announce 'the start of something new' as we launch a search for a new class of East High Wildcats to star in a fourth installment of the High School Musical franchise."
The original movies starred Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Monique Coleman and more. It's not yet known if any of them will make an appearance or not.
While this might be good news for some, people on Twitter aren't that thrilled.
