She might be considered one of the most beautiful women in the world, but it looks like Gwen Stefani hates being called a sex symbol.

Despite revealing outfits and sexy red carpet looks, the chart topper says she never wanted to be considered a sex symbol in the industry, all because of her strict Catholic upbringing with her parents.

According to Xpose on Sunday, Stefani—who is currently dating country singer Blake Shelton—says that despite her platinum blonde hair and signature red lipstick, she likes to think of herself as nothing more than just another girl next door.

She said, "The way my parents brought me up was Catholic. I had conservative parents, and I was raised to be very true to my morals. Thank God... I never felt comfortable being a sex symbol. I never, ever saw myself as that.''

Gwen, who has three sons with her soon-to-be ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, also says that she's experimented with her look a dozen or so more times because she was never interested in having the "raunchy" persona that is pretty common in the entertainment world.

She explained, "That might also be a reason why I have more longevity than other performers. If you're playing that card, there's nothing unique about it. But I think there is something unique about being honest... Embracing who you are, and not being ashamed of it.''
