They've been happily dating for a few months now, but a new report is indicating Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are making a big step towards potentially having a child together in the future.

According to In Touch, Stefani, 46, is making plans to freeze her eggs so she can still have a biological child with Shelton in the future, without her age keeping her from being able to give him a child.

"Gwen is freezing her eggs because she wants to have a baby with Blake," a source told the magazine. "She'd love to have a girl—plus Gwen knows her boys would love to have another sibling—and wants to give Blake this opportunity to have a child that biologically his. But she doesn't want her age to prevent this from happening."

"Even though Blake is insisting he doesn't need biological children, Gwen isn't taking any chances," the source added.

However, the report is from In Touch, which is the same magazine Shelton is currently embroiled in a lawsuit with over a false report that he had sought out rehab for a drinking problem last fall—and it comes at the same time that other reports indicate there is a little trouble in paradise for the pair.

Following news that Stefani would not return to The Voice next season (nor would Pharrell Williams), and their chairs would be given to Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus, Celebrity Dirty Laundry alleged that perhaps Shelton was somewhat behind the decision for his girlfriend to be ousted from the show, because he could be feeling smothered by her.

"He and Gwen have been together 24/7 since they began dating—and she recently accompanied him to his hometown in Oklahoma, and brought along her entire family," the blog asserted. "It looks like the country music singer might be feeling a bit smothered, and wants at least one part of his life to be a Gwen-Free zone."

Neither Shelton nor Stefani has spoken out about the recent batches of rumors concerning their romance.
