Former Pittsburgh Steeler Kordell Stewart has reportedly filed a petition for divorce on March 22 from his wife, Porsha Williams.

Stewart, 40, filed for divorce stating that the marriage between him and the Real Housewives of Atlanta star is "irretrievably broken," according to Access Atlanta.

The petition read, "Petitioner, after marrying respondent, a cast member on the 'Real Housewives of Atlanta,' on May 21, 2011, is seeking divorce as the marriage is irretrievably broken."

The publication explains that other housewives on the reality series claimed Stewart was too controlling.

The couple does not have any children together, and Williams, 31, also doesn't have a prenuptial agreement, according to Reality Tea.

Williams has said she wanted children on the show and hold a job in charity work, but Stewart said she had to choose.

In a recent episode of RHOA, Williams declined to go on a girl's trip to a strip club because her husband wouldn't like her to be in that kind of environment.

According to Clutch Magazine, Williams discussed being a submissive wife and said, "It's not a bad thing. That's a great thing. We're supposed to be submissive to our husbands and let them be the leaders. That's just what I do. I'm old school in the way that I think about that."

Williams joined RHOA in 2005. Stewart is a former quarterback and his nickname in the NFL was Slash.
