'Transformers 5' Spoilers: Cinematographer Of 'John Wick' Joins 'Age of Extinction' Sequel [VIDEO]
Jonathan Sela will be the cinematographer for Transformers 5.
The John Wick cinematographer will be bringing his talent to the Age of Extinction sequel. Variety revealed this bit of news.
While this new addition is sure to make a big difference to the movie, there had also been news of a loss to the movie.
Last month, in an interview with Collider, Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman dished about why he will not be involved with the making of Transformers 5.
Kirkman was initially a part of the writing team for the Age of Extinction sequel but he had to leave very early in the process, even before the preliminary work had begun. Kirkman revealed to Collider that he had to quit the job because of a throat surgery a day before the team got to work. Kirkman was meant to stick on for the long ride, i.e. conceptualize the future-prequels or sequels-of the Transformers series with the rest of the writers
Even though he is not part of the team he assured that the series was in very good creative hands, saying that "there are a lot of amazing Transformers stuff coming."
In other recent news about the film, Transformers 5 is set to begin filming in Detroit over the summer.
The previous installments of the series were also filmed in Detroit. Lee Rosenthal, the president of Physical Production at Paramount Pictures also spoke about the merits of filming in the state in an interview with Deadline. "Michigan has been so welcoming of Michael Bay and the Transformers movies over the years, and we are thrilled to be returning for this next incredible installment," said Rosenthal.
Transformers: Age of Extinction hit theaters on June 27, 2014.
