It seems like no matter what Kate Middleton and Prince William say these days, they end up getting slammed by their critics. Even though they've just ended a successful state trip to India and Bhutan, the Duke of Cambridge is getting heavily criticized for the way he handled the trip behind the scenes and apparently demanding 'privacy' for both him and his wife.

Multiple reports say that according to royal correspondent Richard Palmer and the popular gossip blog Celebitchy, the Duke and Duchess managed to upset the press when William wanted to insure that he and his wife get the "privacy" they needed during the trip. What's more, the journalist wasn't the only person who thought it was odd for the royal couple to want to spend time alone during such a public overseas trip.

To make matters worse, there were also rumors floating around that it was difficult for the press to even access the royal couple as they are supposedly "hyper-managed" by their handlers with "zero spontaneity" to them at all. If that weren't enough, every question directed to the Duke and Duchess by reporters had to be pre-approved.

And it seems like critics seem to agree as some comments included, "They are on a state sponsored trip for HM, representing the government and the people of the UK and they want privacy. The privacy will come for the next 2-3 months when no one will see or hear from them because they are holed away at Anmer or wherever. Next time send Harry," along with, "I'm glad the press is going after them. Both of them demonstrated they did not prepare for this trip at all. Things they said during this tour illustrated that. These two need to get it together."

Another critic wrote, "It's such a shame about this trip, because I always thought these trips can be a quick way to get good press. Maybe not enough to do a 180 on public opinion, but at least enough to look better."
