Even though he says he's not interested in becoming a politician, George Clooney is sure doing one heck of a job getting himself involved with political matters these days. In fact, the Hollywood actor had quite a lot of things to say about the current Presidential race to the White House.

After being criticized for charging guests $335,000 just to sit next to him and his wife Amal Clooney for a fundraiser he hosted for Hillary Clinton, Clooney is now defending his actions, saying there's a huge difference between the money raised for Clinton and her opponent, Bernie Sanders. What's more, Clinton herself has been criticized for attending Hollywood parties hosted by wealthy citizens in places like L.A. and Silicon Valley.

He and his wife reportedly raised $15 million for Clinton this weekend. He explains that Clinton has been raking in the money not just for her campaign, but for other Democrats running for the House and Senate, along with other local races.

In an interview with NBC's Meet The Press this weekend Clooney explained, " It's going to the congressmen and senators to try to take back Congress. And the reason that's important, and the reason it's important to me, is because we need - I'm a Democrat. So if you're a Republican, you're going to disagree, but we need to take the Senate back."

Clinton herself seems to agree with Clooney's statements as she herself even said, "I want to bring along a lot of Democrats, because I want to protect and further the progressive agenda that President Obama has worked for and that I believe in."

Sanders for his part acknowledges that he hasn't raised as much money for his party in his current campaign but adds, "In the past we have, and raised millions of dollars for Democratic candidates."
