Is LeAnn Rimes trying to send out a message to today's pop stars? That's what both fans and critics alike can't help but wonder as the former country star shared a new meme, while supposedly shading all of today's pop stars that rely on auto tune technology for their hits.

On her official Instagram account, Rimes posted a photo of legendary country singer Patsy Cline in a meme that said, "Who is Patsy Cline? You see kids, before PC's and auto-tune, there were these mythical creatures who could actually sing without the aid of technology." Rimes captioned the photo in her own words by saying, "Best thing I've seen today! Made me giggle. SO TRUE! I so appreciate the singers of this world. This woman was a gem!!! #sing #patsycline #music #legend."

Many of Rimes' Instagram followers seem to agree the sentiment, commenting on the photo with, "Yea, if anyone knows this I do.. Auto Tune has been the down fall of music," along with, "Yup @leannrimes love the singers that sing like you."

Another follower wrote, "Vocalists are auto tuned to sound like Patsy Cline & Leann Rimes. But even digitally enhanced, they don't even get close to the sound of these girls. You would blow Patsy's mind if she heard you sing today. Like I've always said you are immensely gifted, one of the greatest singers ever."

Unfortunately, Rimes herself hasn't had a hit in years even though she is currently on a cross-country tour. She is best known for her hit, "Blue" from way back in 1994.
