There's no doubt that Janet Jackson has waited her whole life to become a mother and now that she's almost there, she's getting criticism from the public. And it's not because they think she would be unsuited for motherhood, but instead because she's 49-years-old and reportedly pregnant with her first child.

According to People Magazine on Wednesday, even though Jackson herself has not confirmed the pregnancy just yet, rumors are swirling that she and her husband, Qatari businessman Wissam Al Mana might be expecting their first child together. The chart topper hinted that she might be planning a family back in April when she told her fans that she would be postponing her world tour for family reasons.

She said back then, "I thought it was important that you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family. So I'm going to have to delay the tour."

Yet, many critics think that Jackson might just be too old for a baby at this point in her life.

Some posts from critics in the article's comments include, "I'm only 42 and couldn't imagine having a baby at my age. I hope she has the energy for it. Especially because she'll be almost 70 when her child graduates high school...and that's assuming she lives that long," along with, "How ridiculous to wait until almost 50. Why not adopt? A lot of black and mixed race babies need homes."

Another critic wrote, "50 is time for grandchildren, not first babies. She knew she was either trying or was already with child. Why schedule a tour in the first place?"
