Interior designer Nate Berkus and boyfriend Jeremiah Brent are engaged, according to UsWeekly. The pair got engaged at Machu Picchu in Peru on Monday, April 8 after dating for 8 months.

Berkus, 41, reportedly popped the question to Brent during their stop in Peru, according to Berkus' representative.
Berkus, from Chicago, became a TV personality after he was invited to do a makeover on a space for The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2002. He had become a regular guest on the show since his first appearance.

He also had his own program, The Nate Berkus Show, which aired from 2010 to 2012. He currently runs the Chicago interior design for Nate Berkus Associates.

Berkus and his former partner, Fernando Bengoechea, were vacationing at a resort in Sri Lanka when the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami hit. Berkus survived but Bengoechea went missing and is believed to have been swept to his death.

"I am safe and home," Berkus had written on Oprah.com, after the ordeal. "Your prayers have been a blessing through all of this. The search for my partner, Fernando Bengoechea, continues, and your support in this search has provided comfort and solace to me and those close to Fernando. I ask that we all continue to pray and come together, as a people, in providing aid to those in need. And I thank you for allowing me and those close to me to have the time we need to heal through this devastation."

Berkus also had stints on Days of Our Lives, where he played himself.
