Bradley Cooper may have an Oscar nomination under his belt, but he's not too caught up to live with his mom.

Back in 2011, the 38-year-old actor had revealed to Esquire that he had brought his mother out to Los Angeles to live after his father, Charles Cooper, died from cancer. Now it is 2013 and the star of The Place Beyond the Pines and the upcoming Hangover 3 is happy to still call her his roommate.

"My family is very close, and my dad dying was brutal for all of us," Cooper told Details magazine in their May issue. "It was a schism, and its aftershock has not stopped. And we need each other. So here we are. But don't get me wrong. It's not without complications. It's not like I live in a compound and she's in the guesthouse. No. She's in the next room. But here's the thing: She's a cool chick. We can hang, and she can roll with the punches."

Cooper also took his mom to the Oscars with him. While he never worried about becoming stuck as the man who plays the cocky jerk in comedies, when he received the nomination for Silver Linings Playbook, he realized how many people thought of him as only that - both on screen and in real life.

"I never thought about it until I got nominated and then so many people were like, "What the fuck?" I had no idea how many people didn't think I was really an actor. That surprised me," Cooper told Details. "People must have thought I was that dude-this cocky asshole of a guy."

But what does the future hold for Cooper? Fatherhood is one thing he is looking to accomplish.

"Saw how much joy fatherhood gave my own dad.," Cooper said in Details. "So I hope it's part of my journey. You go through stages in your life, and fatherhood seems like a natural stage."

Currently 2011's Sexiest Man Alive can be found teaming up with Jennifer Lawrence and director David O. Russell on the 1970s based American Hustle, according to E!. 

Cooper is rumored to be dating 20-year-old model Suki Waterhouse. The pair has not confirmed their relationship but has been spotted hand in hand in Paris last week.

38-year-old Cooper has an 18-year age difference with his new girlfriend. He had previously denied rumors of a relationship with 22-year-old Silver Linings Playbook co-star Jennifer Lawrence saying he was 'old enough to be her dad.'

Cooper dated actress Zoe Zaldana before they called it quits in December. Cooper has also briefly dated Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez and Olivia Wilde and dated Renee Zellweger for two years. From 2006 to 2007 he was married to Jennifer Esposito, actress, for four months.
