Lauri Peterson's son, Josh Waring, is suspected of attempted murder.

Throughout Peterson's time on The Real Housewives of Orange County, fans watched as Waring struggled with drug use and now, eight years after she left the show to focus on her marriage to George Peterson and her kids, Waring is back behind bars.

"Joshua Waring was chased and arrested by police in Santa Ana on Monday, following the shooting of a man in Costa Mesa," Radar Online reported on Tuesday, via The Los Angeles Times. "Police purport that the 27-year-old shot a 35-year-old man in the lower torso at approximately 2:30 a.m. at the man’s home on Babb Street."

“Apparently there had been a previous confrontation between [Waring] and the occupants of that residence earlier, and he had returned,” Costa Mesa police Lt. Paul Beckman said.

Before cops arrived to the area, Waring reportedly took off in a stolen BMW and eight hours later, he wrecked the vehicle mid-pursuit and attempted to escape on foot by hiding in a local business.

“After a brief standoff, he surrendered without further incident to the Santa Ana police,” Costa Mesa police said in a news release.

Waring's alleged victim, who was not named, is being treated for serious injuries in Orange County Global Medical Center and is expected to live. Meanwhile, Waring was arrested on "suspicion of attempted murder, vehicle theft, felony evading police, hit-and-run and assault and battery" with bail set at $1 million.

During her time on The Real Housewives of Orange County, Peterson spoke of Waring's legal issues as well as his struggles with drug abuse. Then, years later, after Waring welcomed a baby girl, Peterson and her husband stepped in and adopted the child.

Peterson has not yet released a statement in regard to her son's latest misstep.

The Real Housewives of Orange County season 11 airs on Mondays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
