Sony has always been pretty honest with the PlayStation VR, making it clear to consumers that it is not a device that is as powerful as industry leaders like the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. Despite this, however, Sony is still confident that its VR headset is something that would prove formidable in the ongoing thrust of the gaming industry to virtual reality.

During the recently-held E3 2016, attendees were given the chance to sample Sony's VR headset, and most came away very impressed. Even Palmer Luckey, the man invented the Oculus Rift, congratulated the Japanese gaming giant in its efforts.

Indeed, with the way Sony is aggressively pushing its VR headset to consumers, it would not be a surprise if the PSVR becomes the device to beat in the VR gaming industry. Here are three reasons why.

It Has a Killer Game Library

The Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive, while notably more powerful than the PSVR, have a pretty notable weakness - they have relatively few games. The PSVR, on the other hand, has the advantage of Sony's massive gaming titles. Indeed, in E3 alone, the gaming giant unveiled some notable titles for its VR platform, including Star Wars: Battlefront, Final Fantasy XV and Batman: Arkham. With its formidable lineup of mainstream titles, the PSVR would have a significant advantage over its competitors.

It's Actually Pretty Affordable

Though the device is not cheap at its introductory price of $400, it is nonetheless far cheaper than its biggest rivals, the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive, which retail for $600 and $800, respectively. With quality that is very close to industry leaders, the $399 asking price for the PSVR is very, very justifiable.

It's the Easiest to Set Up

Due to their raw specs, both the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive require high-end gaming PCs for the devices to work optimally. This radically increases the price of the device. For the PSVR, however, all gamers need is a working PlayStation 4. Though the PS4 Neo is set to be unveiled soon, the PSVR is fully compatible with the original PS4, allowing millions of gamers around the world to immediately experience high-end VR gaming without having to dish out too much cash.
