Lamar Odom nearly died just months ago after suffering a drug overdose at a Nevada brothel, but unfortunately, the incident reportedly wasn't enough to convince the former NBA player to put his drug days behind him.

According to a new report, Odom's family, including his ex-wife, Liza Morales, the mother of his two children, recently attempted to stage an intervention but were unsuccessful with their efforts.

On Saturday, family sources confirmed the reported intervention with Extra TV and noted that Odom's aunt, Ja'Nean Mercer, who traveled to Nevada with his family in October after he was hospitalized, was present.

"Lamar’s cousin Alvina Alston reached out to Darryl Strawberry to have Lamar get on a plane to start his rehab at the Darryl Strawberry Recovery Center in St. Cloud, Florida. Ron Dock, who has counseled Darryl and is responsible for his recovery, was at the intervention, with Darryl himself reportedly joining via Skype," the outlet explained to readers.

However, rather than accept the help, Odom "would not take their concerns seriously and walked out," the Daily Mail revealed.

"[Lamar] is back to treating his body worse than ever," a source recently said. "Lamar's near death experience affected a lot of people. Especially Khloé. She put her life on hold for weeks to be by Lamar's side at the hospital 24/7. It was awful for Khloé to get the phone call that Lamar had overdosed. For days, she didn't know if he was going to make it. It infuriates her that Lamar is back to his old ways. Khloé was really hoping that the awful hospital experience would have a positive effect on Lamar, but it's really been the opposite."
