A writer for Beyonce’s mega successful Lemonade album has confirmed whether the “Becky with the good hair” character is about a real woman.

Entertainment Weekly caught up with Diana Gordon (formerly known as Wynter Gordon) dished on making the project and spilled some of its secrets.

As for the reactions received from the “Becky” line in the single Sorry, Gordon said it was pretty comedic.

“I laughed, like this is so silly. Where are we living? I was like, ‘What day in ge from that lyric do you get all of this information?’ Is it really telling you all that much, accusing people?”

Beyonce sung the now infamous line in the album that seemed to tell the story of her ups and downs with her husband Jay Z. Many said Beyonce was calling out Jay Z’s alleged mistress as Becky. The likes of celebrity stylist Rachel Roy, celebrity chef Rachael Ray, and singer Rita Ora were accused and blasted on the Internet as the possible Becky.

As for Beyonce’s response to the reaction, Gordon added, “I don’t think she expected it. I saw her at her Formation tour. She had a pajama party; we laughed, we danced, we hugged it out. But I didn’t say much about it at the time because I wanted to give her space. The idea started in my mind but its not mine anymore. It was very funny and amusing to me to watch it spread over the world.”

Gordon revealed she had actually written the song before she was added to Beyonce’s project. But the singer related to the hit right away and said, “This is my life.”

She said Beyonce changed a few lyrics and the arrangement a little bit.
