Actress Chloe Moretz wants to keep her childhood image clean, according to a recent interview in the May 2013 issue of Nylon Magazine.

Unlike famous child stars who have made headlines for not-so-nice things, Moretz said she appreciates being an average 16-year-old teenager.

"Kids my age at school are fighting to get into clubs and be around an open bar, whereas I've had the opportunity to drink or do drugs if I wanted to, and I haven't," Moretz said.

According to Us Weekly, the teen actress said she does not take her career for granted and is well aware of the shady business.

"This business is not peaches and cream, and I've fought tooth and nail to earn this spot. I'm not a girl who's ridden on a last name or lucked into it from getting on one project that blows up," she said.

According to Moretz, she has been in the acting business for 11 years and knows that she has to continue to give it her all.

"I have to keep working, too, because if I sat back on my haunches right now, I could disappear within a month," she said.

The actress is currently focused on advancing her career and will star in the forthcoming Carrie remake.

"When I do a crying scene, I'm the type of actor who usually breaks right out of it afterwards, and I'm laughing and being silly. But with Carrie, I wanted to try staying in character and being in that dark space all day. I'm not very serious Method," she said.

Moretz said that playing Method in Carrie was one of the best experiences she's endured, although she's terrified to see the movie.

"It's not like I didn't talk to my family or go crazy and not eat, but with the director and the actors I was Carrie all the time on set," she told Nylon.
