Ciara and Russell Wilson are just days away from celebrating their second month wedding anniversary. Now, celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss has opened up about what it was like planning the lavish ceremony for the famous couple.

She first revealed that they changed the location of their wedding multiple times.

“I did the whole thing – three times,” she told The Knot as she co-hosted the Bachelorette finale viewing party at her apartment in New York City. “They were first getting married in North Carolina, but they called it off due to the transgender bathroom laws.”

The governor of North Carolina had signed a bill that bans transgender individuals from using public bathrooms based on the gender they identify with months before Ciara and Wilson’s ceremony.

The singer and NFL star then wanted to move their wedding to Paris but “it ended up being [Couture] Fashion Week; and it was really difficult,” Weiss added.

“We ended up in London. They wanted to be away. And we found a castle that was an hour out of Liverpool and they had about 110 guests.”

They tied the knot at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, England.

While they had an intimate ceremony, Weiss said the chapel in the castle “was too small because [Ciara’s] dress was 13-feet.”

“Her dress in person was so much more spectacular than in the pictures, though in the pictures, they’re beautiful. In person, it was shockingly beautiful,” Weiss said of the custom-made Roberto Cavalli gown.

Weiss said Ciara wanted to stick to neutral colors like “whites and creams” and also had soulful legends Earth, Wind & Fire give a show “in a separate tent.”

Serena Williams was supposed to be a part of the wedding party could not make the ceremony because of her Wimbledon match.

Weiss, who said she met Ciara and Wilson through their celebrity friends Carmelo Anthony and LaLa, ended with, “I think my favorite part of [Ciara and Russell’s wedding] was the ceremony because they were so happy. They are delicious. They really are a very cool couple. I really enjoy their relationship.”

Their romance made headlines after they revealed they were waiting until their wedding night to consummate their relationship.
