Dakota Johnson may have a steamy relationship with Jamie Dornan in front of the cameras of the Fifty Shades trilogy, but her personal life appears to be far less eventful.

Although Johnson was involved in an up and down romance with musician Matthew Hitt for the past couple of years, the former couple reportedly called it quits for good earlier this summer.

"Dakota Johnson and boyfriend of two years Matthew Hitt have reportedly ended their relationship," the Daily Mail revealed to readers in June. "The 26-year-old actress was first spotted with the model and musician in July 2014. They split in early 2015, around the time Dakota's raunchy movie Fifty Shades of Grey was released but reunited a few months later."

Earlier this year, Johnson faced allegations of a brewing romance with actor Jake Gyllenhaal, but despite the ongoing rumors, the couple doesn't appear to have engaged in a relationship. Instead, they were faced of reports claiming Gyllenhaal was hoping to rekindle a spark from months prior. 

During an inteview with Vogue magazine last year, Johnson spoke of her growing fame.

“I think about my dwindling anonymity,” she said, “and that’s really scary because a very large part of me would be perfectly happy living on a ranch in Colorado and having babies and chickens and horses—which I will do anyway.”

“I wanted to be involved because it’s so different,” Johnson continued, “and it’s an intense love story.”
