Following news of Jay Cutler's right thumb strain, we're offering an update on the life of the Chicago Bears quarterback's wife, Kristin Cavallari.

Earlier this year, the Hills star was shocked by the sudden death of her brother, Michael, and while the past several months haven't been easy, the reality star recently revealed she's getting by with the help of her three children.

“Life is always throwing me curveballs,” Cavallari told the New York Post last Thursday during her New York fashion presentation at the Row NYC hotel. “There are going to be good times and bad times. But I can’t just go in a corner and fall apart. I have to get up every day and put on a strong face for my kids."

Cavallari and Cutler are parents to Camden Jack, 4, Jaxon Wyatt, 2, and Saylor James, 9 months.

“And that is not just to say that you should pretend that everything is OK and ignore whatever is bothering you. I think that there is a lot to be learned by embracing your emotions and dealing with what life gives you,” she continued. “My kids help me a lot and give me motivation to continue on. My parents are hanging in there. Obviously, it has been a tough year. There are ups and downs, but hopefully we are coming out of the worst of it. We have been a solid support and been there for each other.”

As for rumors of behind-the-scenes drama between the other football wives, Cavallari explained, “It is really not that catty, at least not with me. But I have heard stories.”
