Angelina Jolie and her team are reportedly looking to discredit Brad Pitt in the public arena as divorce proceedings continue.

With reports of Pitt being verbally abusive (and even physical) with their six kids, having an affair with Marion Cotillard and more, the actor has been painted in a very negative light in the media. But was Jolie and her team behind everything?

A new report from Us Weekly suggests Jolie has been responsible. A source told the publication that her team is "running a smear campaign" against Pitt. The source also said that Jolie may have been plotting against Pitt for a while now, and Pitt's incident on the plane with their kids was the last straw.

"Angie says she is going to destroy him," a friend of the actress/director said. "If something is broken, she just throws it away."

Meanwhile, another insider indicated that the child abuse accusations may have been exaggerated.

"Angelina is a good mother," the insider noted to Us Weekly in a previous report. "Brad appreciates and respects her, and knows she's a good mother. He knows that it's important to do what's right for the kids, whatever that is going to be. ... These reports about abuse on the plane are exaggerated or fabricated."

The also noted that Pitt has "cooperated" so far with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) investigation, stating, "He certainly wants what's best for his kids and for them to be in the best environment and he'll do anything that will put them in the best position."

Jolie is currently fighting for full custody of their six kids, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and 8-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. Jolie does not want spousal support.
