Shakira talked about being a mother in an interview with Extra that aired on Monday night in Los Angeles, four months after she gave birth to her son.

The singer sported a black string vest over a camisole, matching it with leather shorts as she joined The Voice judges at The Grove for their group interview. She finished off the look with a large silver necklace and studded platform stilettos. The mother wore little makeup and had her blonde hair hanging loose around her shoulders.

Shakira, who recently gave birth to Milan with boyfriend Gerard Pique, smiled and waved to fans as she joined Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Usher on stage.

Shakira said raising a child is a “surreal” experience.

"It's a whole new experience to me, and I'm just discovering it second by second. And having [Milan] here, it's great, it's a new thing, it's another part of me and my loved one. He's accompanying me so I don't feel alone," she said.

The singer admitted that she isn't sure she'll be able to lose the weight she had gained from her pregnancy, though she is trying to.

"You wonder if you'll ever get your body back. I'm still a few pounds over," she added. "But I do Zumba. Even during pregnancy, I did it almost to the end."

The new mom is finding her time limited with her other obligations but said she would rather spend her spare time with her son than at the gym. Her days off she joins spending with Milan.

In an interview with Us Weekly last month, the singer said she thought motherhood would not be as challenging as it turned out to be.

"Nobody told me it would be this hard. It takes a lot of energy but I love it. There's a lot of joy and fear," she said.
