Lindsay Lohan's rehab would go a lot better if her parents, Michael and Dina Lohan, were to participate in family therapy with the Mean Girls actress, according to a new report.

Lindsay entered Betty Ford treatment center on May 3 as part of her 90-day court ordered rehab. The facility wants her parents to join their daughter in a therapy session and they feel it may be a way to solve the conflict between all parties, a source told Radar Online. Families are encouraged to take an active role in group therapy.

"Lindsay's counselors want to get Dina and Michael to Betty Ford for a series of sessions in the next few weeks," the source said." They feel like having her work through her family issues could help Lindsay's recovery."

Dina told the website that any talk of group therapy was news to her. She instead said that her ex-husband needed to make child support payments for the three other children they share. The two have argued over $8,500 that he may owe.

"Where did you hear that from? News to me! I have a warrant for child support against him... he owes thousands in back child support," she said.

Michael said that he was more than happy to do his part - anything asked of him if it would help aid Lindsay's recovery. He said that he and his ex-wife needed to put their egos aside for the sake of their eldest child.

"I will gladly attend, like I've always wanted to," he added. "It's the only thing that will give Lindsay resolve and a chance to finally have her life and both parents back in her life."

Lindsay may not be quite as receptive to her father's overtures. She granted Piers Morgan an interview before she entered rehab and told the British newsman that she would always have to walk on eggshells around her father. She felt he was unstable and needed to see a professional for his own welfare.

"He definitely needs to see a therapist," she said. "He went to rehab once but got kicked out. That's one thing that's never happened to me!"
