It's been more than a year since Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards and Zayn Malik ended their two-year engagement and four-year relationship, but not even their fans were never privy to the details. Now, Perrie has revealed in the group's upcoming book "One World," that Zayn broke it off with her via text message.

Let that sink in for a second: this woman's fiance broke off a two-year-engagement with a TEXT MESSAGE. Celebrity or not, but that's so beyond ridiculous that fans may barely wrap their minds around it.

First of all, it's cowardly. No one's going to pretend about knowing all the reasons why he ended the relationship with Perrie, seeing as no one's in their relationship and neither one of them has revealed what truly went down -- but the kind of person that doesn't have the gall to break things off face-to-face is kind of a wimp. Not cool, Zayn. Not cool.

Second, when someone break it off with a text, that person's leaving way too much room for interpretation. Tone tends to get lost over text, so what can have the intention of a harmless joke or a sarcastic remark can come off as off-tone or crass.

Third, and this is a no-brainer: the person who initiated the breakup owes it to the person he broke off with to ask questions. He owesthem a face-to-face interaction. Sorry, Zayn, but that was a major bad move.

Oh, well, looks like Perrie is doing just fine: the singer is reportedly dating actor Luke Pasqualino. As for Zayn, well, he looks all-loved up with supermodel Gigi Hadid. So what gives, really? Well, maybe it's all part of Zayn and Perrie's young love they had for one another.
