The Rai-Bachchan family will be well represented at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

But it's the youngest generation of the Bollywood dynasty that looks to get all the attention. The website BollywoodLife.com is reporting that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be walking the Cannes red carpet with 17-month-old daughter Aaradhya.

Aaradhya is already rather well traveled for her age, having gone to Dubai, London, Chicago, and New York, and most recently accompanied her mother to the Times of India Film Awards in Vancouver. "Aishwarya is keen to show Aaradhya around in the French city," a source told Indian news channel NDTV.

The 66th edition of Cannes will be celebrating the Indian film industry's 100th anniversary and Bollywood star Rai Bachchan has received a special invitation to attend the festival from the French government.

French Ambassador to India Francois Richier told reporters in April that Rai Bachchan has always been held in high regard in the European country. "She is very dear to our heart and we are very grateful to her," said Richier. "The Cannes festival will have a special focus on Indian Cinema where we will invite Indian film stars."

Last November on her birthday, Rai Bachchan received a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters award, France's second-highest civilian honor, for her contributions to film. She has also served as a longtime brand ambassador for French cosmetics brand L'Oreal Paris.

Rai Bachchan's father-in-law, Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, will also attend Cannes as part of promotion for his new film, The Great Gatsby. However, his son, Abhishek Bachchan, will not be able to attend; he is reprising his role of A.C.P. Jai Dixit in the latest edition of the Dhoom movie series, currently shooting.
