Taylor Swift Fan Arrested For Swimming To Her Rhode Island Home at Night
A Taylor Swift fan found himself in custody on Wednesday after attempting to swim to the singer's new Rhode Island home.
According to TMZ, a 22-year-old Chicago man was arrested after police found him swimming near Swift's home at around 2:20 a.m. on May 15.
Apparently the fan swam two miles through the bay in the middle of the night. However, Zap2it reports that when the swimmer saw that the beach was manned by the singer's security detail, he decided to head back home.
Unfortunately for the trespasser, police officers spotted him swimming during his return journey and confronted him when he exited the water. This incident took place nearly a mile away from the 23-year-olds abode.
When the police asked the man what he was doing, TMZ reports that he admitted to trying to go and meet the "I Knew You Were Trouble" singer. He was then arrested for trespassing.
"There is a zero tolerance policy for trespassers," said Westerly Police Department representative, according to AceShowBiz.
Swift brought the home for $17 million at the end of April. The mansion came with 700 feet of waterfront, 5.23 acres of land, and 11,000 square feet of living space. It is unclear if Swift was home when the incident took place.
