A lot of smartphone manufacturers are working hard to deliver the Android 7.0 Nougat to its handsets. Sony has been one of them and as a matter of fact it recently rolled out the newest operating system by Google to its Xperia X and Xperia X Compact devices.

Indian Express has learned that last month Sony has released the Android 7.0 update to Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ. Now, the Japanese tech giant delivers similar upgrade to Sony Xperia X and Xperia X Compact smartphones. The said roll out of Nougat was announced through Sony's Twitter account and it also clarified that the software will hit the smartphones in a phased manner.

Sony basically started releasing the Android Nougat update for the Xperia X (F5121), Xperia X Dual (F5122) and Xperia X Compact (F5321) smartphones earlier last week. Also, an information that was shared by users showed that the update has the build number 34.2.A.0.266. Reports also suggest that the Android 7.0 Nougat update was now obtainable in countries like Australia, Latin America, Middle East, Russia, Turkey, Thailand and Vietnam.

Aside from Sony Xperia X and Xperia X Compact, NDTV Gadgets reported that Sony Xperia Z5 Series, Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 Tablet are also eligible for Android 7.0 Nougat firmware. The aforementioned gadgets are predicted to obtain the OS this month.

In addition, the last batch of Xperia smartphones to have Nougat will be Xperia XA and Xperia XA Ultra, which are anticipated to receive the latest Android 7.0 early next year. On the other hand Sony Xperia Z4 and Xperia Z4v that are released in the second quarter of 2015 have been reportedly left out of the Nougat roll out roadmap made by the Japanese tech giant.

Upon the update to Android 7.0 Nougat, the Sony Xperia X and Xperia X Compact features will be enhanced. One of which is ability to run two apps side-by-side. This software will also develop encryption for personal data and improved battery life.
