Curved phones are a norm and just like Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi, Apple has reportedly joined the curved screen race for the iPhone 8.

Korea Herald has stated that Apple's orders for OLED displays from Samsung only extends to the plastic version of OLED. Plastic OLED displays have appeared on the S7 Edge, and glass OLEDs are used mainly for flat panels. All of Apple's newest iPhone with OLED displays would have curved screens.

As of now, there might be two versions of the iPhone. One version might have flat LCD panels from LG, and the other version would have curved OLEDs with sensing technology, which can respond to user touch wherever the user touches.

Apple has opted for two separate types of screen models for the iPhone 8 because Samsung can only provide up to 100 million curved displays for the Apple iPhone 8, which is less than half the sales of iPhone 7 this year.

The Cupertino company has been working on three different models for the iPhone sporting different screen sizes.AppleInsider reports of a 4.7-inch model and a 5.5-inch model with LCD screens, and a 5.2-inch OLED curved screen model as well.

With the OLED technology, Apple can be bringing in new 3D touch technology to the iPhone, howeverm it hasn't made any official claims, and nor there are any sources citing the same.

In 2016, curved displays made a great impact, ever since the market was stabilized by the 2015's Galaxy S6 Edge. As a result, curved bezel-less displays were more sought after, aiding to millions of units sold for Samsung. Huawei has followed in Samsung's footsteps, along with Xiaomi and now Apple is in line.

Apple's design language has changed over the years, and now the Cupertino company is focusing on making the iPhone more aesthetic and at the same time comfortable and luxurious to hold and behold. The iPhone 7 was beautiful. There is no doubt that the iPhone 8 would be a head turner.
