The Nexus 6P already obtained the Android 7.0 Nougat firmware update. But then, fresh reports suggest that upon upgrading to Nougat users of the handset experience battery failure making the device shut down unexpectedly.

NDTV Gadgets has learned that it was early last month when some Nexus 6P users stated that their handsets are shutting down suddenly in spite of displaying some percentage of battery left, after upgrading to Android 7.0 Nougat. The said problem on Nexus 6P smartphones has been posted in Google's Issue Tracker.

But then, it presently holds a priority of "small" on the website. The users have stated that their battery died out from battery levels as high as 60 percent.

Meanwhile, Tech Times reported that other Nexus 6P users are stating that this problem usually happens whenever the device hits below 15 percent battery level. This dilemma has been posted on several forums as a matter of fact one of the owners complained saying, "The phone flashes orange to go into battery saving mode and shuts down concurrently."

Another user said that their Nexus 6P handsets won't turn back on without charging. When on charge and turned on, the battery will indicate that it has been at least 15% full.

Although there have been numerous complains, Google hasn't addressed the problem yet. With this, some consumers have tried generating remedies like replacing the Nexus 6P's battery but still the issue continued. This basically strengthens the speculations that the problem lies with the Nougat update. Also, upon calling the company's hotline the only solution they could offer is to downgrade the OS back to Android 6.0 which doesn't solve the issue.

This scenario makes the Nexus 6P users hope that the upcoming update for Android 7.0 Nougat will fix this problem. Nonetheless, Google hasn't stated any information about the release of Android 7.1 as of the moment, but then it is wished by many to arrive really soon.
