Xiaomi Mi Mix will be the next in the line to get Android Nougat after the Mi 5. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has already confirmed that it's other handsets, Mi Note, the Mi Max, the Mi 4s, and the Mi 4c, will also soon be getting the latest OS update.

The news is coming from a post on the MIUI forums by moderator GR33dyBlackie. The post says that the Mi Mix will be the second Xiaomi handset to receive the Nougat update after the Mi 5.

An exact timeframe for the release of Android Nougat for the Mi Mix was not revealed though the poster notes that the update will first be made available in beta form. This means that only the select few smartphones who opted into the beta program will be able to experience Android Nougat before everyone else.

The Mi MIx has a bezel-less 6.4-inch display with 2040 x 1080 pixel resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset, and 4 GB or 6 GB RAM.

According to the GSM Arena, while there is no specific date is given for the Android Nougat rollout, the Mi Mix could get the update sometime in Q1 2017. It is also unclear on when the other Xiaomi handsets will get Android Nougat.

In the meantime, Xiaomi has also released new budget headphones called the Mi headphones. According to Xiaomi, these headphones are "skin-friendly", and the exterior of the earmuffs is made from PU leather material while the interior parts are made from a silicone material.

The Mi headphones will eliminate unwanted noise with their "sound chamber design," and built-in damping material absorbs internal acoustic waves that will reduce the sound distortion, giving music more detail.

The Mi headphones have an impedance of 32 Ohms. These new headphones are a much cheaper version of last year's premium Mi headphones. The headphones are available for CNY 499 or roughly $72, Gadgets 360 reported.
