There have been rumors floating around that Usher might be part of the next season of Dancing With the Stars.

A new post from theJasmineBRAND.com claims to have scoop about Usher being cast for season 24 of Dancing With the Stars, which is set to premiere in March.

"They wanted an A-lister and he's one of the biggest names in the industry. Not to mention, Usher is an amazing dancer," a source reportedly told the blog. "We hear that Usher has already began shooting promos for the show. The network and producers are still working on finalizing other big names for the new season."

It's not entirely clear if the source means that Usher would be participating as a contestant or serving as a judge, but either way, the rumor has since been debunked.

"This is absolutely not true," a representative for Usher told Gossip Cop, of this report. "He has no plans to be on 'Dancing with the Stars.'"

If he were to compete on Dancing With the Stars it would be pretty unfair to the other celebrities, considering his expert dancing skills. Of course, that hasn't stopped the show from casting celebs with dance experience before, like season 10 winner Nicole Scherzinger, but having Usher compete would be on another level entirely. The R&B star would probably be better suited as a judge considering his knowledge of dance, if he were to ever be on the show.

Usher does have reality TV experience, having been a coach on two seasons of The Voice. His two seasons were pretty successful - in season 4, he coached Michelle Chamuel all the way to the finale where she placed as a runner-up and in season 6 he coached Josh Kaufman to the win.

Dancing With the Stars season 24 is expected to premiere in March on ABC. The cast is still being finalized, with no announcements yet on who might join the show.
