The Houston Rockets are on target on its playoff run this season. They hold the best win-loss record last December winning 15 games with two losses. And now, in order to maintain their momentum, reports are suggesting that they should consider of adding Rudy Gay to their roster to boost up their chances in the postseason.

Gay has been productive for the Sacramento Kings this season. He is second in points (18.5), rebounds (6.3) and even in blocks (0.67) for the team behind DeMarcus Cousins while leading also them in steals (1.5). But before the regular season starts, he already stated that he is leaving the team after the season and will not pick up his 2017 player option.

And with this impending scenario, it seems that the Houston Rockets will renew their interest in him and might make a move before the trade deadline. Five months ago, Hoops Hype already reported that the Rockets have signified their interest in acquiring the 30-year old veteran forward. But during those time, salary issues is said to be one of the main reason the plan broke up.

Aside from the salary, the Rockets are also concerned that Gay might be a one-year rental player only and might not happy to stay with them. But with their superb showing right now, this might encourage Gay to sign for long-term and help the Rockets make a big push to the playoffs. Will the arrival of Rudy Gay to the Houston Rockets will make a big impact for them?

According to Forbes, though Trevor Ariza is playing good for the Rockets, having Gay is definitely a better upgrade for them. Gay is also a versatile veteran who is dependable both on offense and defense just like the stats mentioned earlier. And his tandem with James Harden could be a potent duo in the West.

Chemistry between them will also not be an issue as Harden and Gay have been teammates in 2014 FIBA World Championship where they won the gold medal. Their combination will surely give the Rockets a good chance of the challenging powerhouse teams in the West like the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs as per stated in the report.
