The incident occurred when part of James' glove became entangled with a machine, according to TMZ. It wasn't until he walked away that the 44-year-old even realized something was missing.

My wife (Alexis DeJoria) and I were on the floor looking around for the finger so we could put it on ice and haul ... to the hospital," James calmly told TMZ on air while he waited to go into surgery.

Despite not being on any pain medication, James was lighthearted as he talked to TMZ.

"They're going to take a skin graft of the chunk of finger and then sew it back on," James said over the phone. "I asked them if they could sew my fingerprint on upside down, though, just for fun."
