Just a few weeks ago, we saw the Moto X Play running Android Nougat appeared on a performance benchmarking site. That hinted that the public rollout is just around the corner. In the meantime, fresh news are coming directly from the Company saying, the official update release schedule for Europe region.

Moto Deutschland Germany via Twitter, replying to a Moto X Play owner, has confirmed that Android Nougat will be roll out to the company's popular 2015 mid-tier phone by the end of this January. Moto X Play owners can also track real-time software release status on the company's website, reports IBTimes.

According to GSM Arena, this applies to the SIM-free EU model of the Moto X Play, so the rollout of Nougat may take a while longer in other places than Europe. What's yet unclear is which exact iteration of Nougat this will be. The Moto Z and Moto G4 will have so far seen Android 7.0 updates, but the build that Motorola was testing in that benchmark for the X Play was Android 7.1.1.

However, there are many other devices which are already in the queue to get the Android 7.0 Nougat update. The company has confirmed that the other Moto devices which will get Android Nougat include Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto X Style, Moto X Force, Droid Turbo 2, Droid Maxx 2, Moto Z Play and Moto Z Play Droid.

Android 7.0 Nougat update will bring multi-window options, night mode, bundled notification, improved security update, enhanced battery optimisation, and several other value-added features, which will enhance user experience.

X Play is one of the Motorola's most popular smartphone of 2015 in mid-range category, so Moto X Play user happiness is right around the corner. For more details about update keep an eye on company's software release status on their website.
