Chelsea Handler thinks the infamous Kardashian family is to blame for Donald Trump being elected president.

Handler discussed Trump winning the election in a new interview with Variety and suggested that the media's incessant coverage of the Kardashians is partly to blame for his victory.

"Stop covering [Trump] so much. They were treating him as an entertainer first. It was a reality show. We've turned into a reality show," Handler said, of what could have been done different to prevent a Trump victory. "I blame the Kardashians, personally; the beginning of the end was the Kardashians. The way these people have blown up and don't go away - it's surreal. Everyone is for sale."

Handler went on to cite how Trump publicly fought back against Vanity Fair for posting a negative review of his restaurant as a prime example of the President-elect's behavior.

"By the way, have you ever been to that restaurant? It's the biggest piece of garbage you've ever walked into. That place looks like a Southwest airport lounge. It's the worst," she said.

Handler did not stop there when taking a dig at Trump. The comedian and talk show host said Trump was essentially a "toddler in the White House", and even his kids won't be able to influence him in a positive way.

"The other thing about his children, they have absolutely no influence over him. The idea that Ivanka is going to help women, or do anything for women, is absurd, because she's a puppet. They're all his puppets," Handler said. "They're scared s---less of him, and the fact that they're still around him means they have never stood up to him."

Handler was open in her support of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election. She has invited several notable politicians and political commentators on her Netflix talk show Chelsea, including Sen. Barbara Boxer, Jake Tapper and Van Jones. Before her Netflix show she interviewed the Kardashians several times on her E! talk show, Chelsea Lately, though she has since suggested negative feelings on having to do so.
