Microsoft is reportedly working on a Surface Phone and also on the upgraded version of the Surface Pro 4, the Surface Pro 5. Tech enthusiasts are differing in their opinion as to when the two highly-anticipated devices will be released.

While some believe they will be unveiled in March, others claim that it will hit the market in April. According to Tech Times, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will sport an Intel 7th Generation Kaby Lake processor.

The device is also expected to come out in three processor variants, which are Core M (dual core), Core i5 (dual-core with two threads), and Core i7 (quad-core with eight threads). Higher processor speeds and better battery life are two highly- probable things that fans are expecting in the upcoming device.

A 12.5-inch 4K screen is also said to come in the device that will be offering a 3D support at 60fps. Microsoft is also said to drop the Super AMOLED screens in favor of an IPS touch one. The device might run on the Windows 10 Redmond 3 version.

For the storage capacity, it will have 2 versions of 16GB and 32GB. The Pro 5 will also likely support 512GB to 1TB storage SSD. Microsoft is also expected to severely enhance Bluetooth, WI-Fi and camera of Surface Pro 5.

Other specs of Surface Pro 5 include a stunning fingerprint scanner and trackpad that may be incorporated into the device. It may also have an upgraded Surface Pen. Microsoft is expected to disclose an improved Surface Pen. Its stylus would disclose a rechargeable battery that could show the capacity to charge wirelessly by docking the stylus into the tablet.

Rumors say that Microsoft may be waiting for the Kaby Lake processor to be implemented. Therefore, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date may be pushed back further. The Surface successor will allegedly have a starting price of $899 for the base model and the expected release is in March this year, reports IBTimes.
