President Donald Trump took the opportunity to blast Arnold Schwarzenegger's Apprentice ratings during his National Prayer Breakfast visit.

In yet another jab at the new host of The Celebrity Apprentice, President Trump spoke today about his relationship with Apprentice co-creator Mark Burnett and how the show has gone down since he, Trump, left.

During his speech at Thursday morning's National Prayer Breakfast, Trump praised Burnett, who was in attendance, calling him a "special, special friend" and how together they had "tremendous success" on The Apprentice.

Trump then spoke on how he had to leave The Apprentice to campaign for president, noting that NBC got a "big, big movie star, Arnold Schwarzenegger, to take my place, and we all know how that turned out."

The president went on to say, "The ratings went right down the tubes. It's been a total disaster," before quipping to the audience, "I want to just pray for Arnold if we can, for those ratings."

Schwarzenegger has now fought back, posting a new video on Twitter in which he requests that they switch jobs, so that people can "sleep comfortably again."

After The New Celebrity Apprentice premiered in early January, Trump tweeted about how the ratings were down compared to his own ratings:

While Trump noted in his National Prayer Breakfast speech (and many times over the years) that The Apprentice (which would eventually become The Celebrity Apprentice) was the "no. 1 show," ratings for The Apprentice have dipped dramatically since the first season debuted in 2004. As observed by Vulture earlier this year, Celebrity Apprentice ratings haven't exactly been great for a long time.
