Jimmy Kimmel's latest on-the-street prank had many people convinced that President Donald Trump picked Rob Kardashian to be the new Supreme Court Justice.

The team behind Jimmy Kimmel Live took to the streets of Los Angeles this week to ask people about President Trump picking the youngest Kardashian sibling as a Supreme Court Justice. While this is clearly nonsense even if you hadn't heard who Trump picked, many not only believed this to be true but spoke about where they were and how they felt about Trump's decision.

"Honestly, I was a little shocked, a little taken back. But I think whatever happens, happens for a reason," says one woman, about her reaction to Trump picking Kardashian.

Another said, "Honestly, that's the first wrong I think he's made as president because I think you shouldn't bring somebody that is that famous into this. He doesn't know anything about politics, about nationalism. He doesn't know anything about what's going on. He's in his own bubble."

One man felt optimistic about Kardashian's appointment!

"He's a people person, and he'll keep the people's interest at heart," he said. Asked whether Kardashian's relationship with Blac Chyna was especially beneficial, he said, "I'm going to say it can't hurt. It can help. It's just an open door for communication. Communication is important, honest communication."

Meanwhile, in reality, President Trump actually picked federal appeals court judge Neil Gorsuch.

"Judge Gorsuch has a superb intellect, an unparalleled legal education, and a commitment to interpreting the Constitution according to its text," Trump said in his announcement speech. "He will make an incredible justice as soon as the Senate confirms him."

The nomination of Gorsuch comes after Republicans in Congress denied President Barack Obama's pick of Merrick Garland. The intended nomination was to replace late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.
