Ubisoft has now officially unveiled the first of four downloadable content (DLC) packs for Year 2 of their highly popular first person tactical shooter video game, "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege." The brand new DLC, called "Operation Velvet Shell," will be bringing with it two new operators and a brand new map.

As previously teased by the company over the previous weeks, via Game Rant, the first new operator is a female defender-type called Mira. The low speed, high armor character comes equipped with a new SMG and a first and secondary shotgun. Mira's main ability is deploying a bulletproof one way mirror, which can be used to spy on enemies behind walls. Enemies on the other side however will not be able to see what's behind the mirror. Mira or any of her teammates can also destroy the mirror by shooting out a gas canister at the bottom to knock it down.

The second operator included in the "Operation Velvet" DLC is a male attacker named Jackal. The new operator is a medium speed armored unit that is equipped with an SMG, an assault rifle, and shotguns. Jackal's special ability is a tracking scanner that allows him to track down footprints. Once footprints have been scanned, an enemy's location is instantly relayed to other team members. Additionally, footprints will have varying degrees of brightness and colors to indicate how recent they were.

As for the new map, "Coastline" is a two story mansion complete with a pool, old ruins, and color coded rooms. It also has a main center courtyard that can be accessed with rappels or traversed from the top.

"Operation Velvet Shell" for "Rainbow Six Siege" will be available this week, as per VG247. All players will get access to the new map for free. The two operators on the other hand will be exclusive to "Rainbow Six Siege" Year 2 Season Pass holders for one week, but will be available for purchase for everyone else right after.
