Google phones are popular, and ever since Google Pixel came to the picture, Google phones are selling like hot cakes. However, it is an established truth that Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X have sold more than all the Pixel phones, and this is making Google reconsider their production values.

As of now, Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X are getting steady security updates from the Google servers, as reported by CNET. Pixel has been competing for its survival in its own home ground. The Google Pixel has been one of the most appraised phones of 2016, with special mentions to its camera performance.

Google wants to end its two-year update scheme, that protected Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X from becoming old hardware. As such, Google mentioned at an event in October 2016 that it will slowly fade out the Nexus brands by lessening the over-the-air security updates. It wants to further its Google Pixel lineup.

However, quite surprisingly, Google still hasn't gone on their words, and have rolled out the Android Nougat 7.1.1 for the Nexus phones that come with a host of new features. Recently, Android 7.1.2 Beta would be made available to the Nexus 6P as Build NPG0F. This update, just like other updates, brings bug fixes and optimizations.

This has led long-time fans of the Nexus series to believe that Google wants to revive the once successful production line of smartphone series. However, there haven't been any official announcements concerning the deduction made by Nexus fans, as Google Pixel is in the picture.

Truth be told, Google Pixel phones are simply not as popular as Nexus 6P. In fact, Nexus 6P is still considered a prime example of how an Android phone should be. Moreover, Pixel phones are the first concept from Google, and this shows, one example being the lens flare issue in its camera.

Furthermore, Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X are intelligently placed and are considered people's go-to phones if they want to experience core Android. In fact, Nexus 6P and 5X define an era of mobile and Android superiority.
