Michael Keaton showed off his underwear as he ran through Times Square on June 1.

The former Batman star was on location filming for the upcoming film Birdman, according to the Daily Mail.

In the movie, Keaton plays has-been actor Riggan Thomson who, as he attempts to launch a Broadway play, keeps seeing a masked, bird-like person. At some point the comedy involves Keaton's character running through the city in nothing but his underwear and black socks.

Pictures show the 61-year-old actor sprinting though onlookers through the bright lights of a late night Time Square, while clutching something black and feathery in his left hand.

The Alejandro González Iñárritu (Babel) helmed film also features Emma Stone (The Croods), Zack Galifianakis (The Hangover Part III), Edward Norton (The Simpsons) and Naomi Watts (Sunlight Jr.). Produced by Fox Searchlight Pictures, New regency Pictures and Worldview Entertainment, Birdman is due out some time in 2014.
