OnePlus is the most sought after mobile brand today, right after Xiaomi. The brand is known for its "flagship killer" properties, giving people a taste of top of the line hardware and software at a fraction of the price of an original flagship phone. With OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, OnePlus rumors suggest that the company has conquered markets without much effort. New reports have emerged suggesting that the company is planning to release the new OnePlus 5 smartphone.

Now, however, OnePlus 5 rumors have started to gain momentum. According to OnePlus news, the next device from OnePlus would be called the OnePlus 5, and not the OnePlus 4. As of now, there is no official news about the OnePlus 5 release date. However, fans all over the world have already dubbed the next OnePlus phone as the OnePlus 5, rumors suggest.

OnePlus 5 rumors sparked when a top leather case manufacturer released designs for its next OnePlus phone. Fans are unsure why the next OnePlus phone isn't being called the OnePlus 4. Since OnePlus is a Chinese company, the number "4" is considered unlucky. Therefore, fans are speculating that OnePlus might omit the number "4" and might go to "5" directly.

Moreover, OnePlus 5 rumors suggest that the company has no specific time set for a release. The OnePlus 1 was released in April 2014, the OnePlus 2 in July 2015 and the OnePlus 3 in June 2016, thereby making a OnePlus 5 release for MWC highly improbable, according to PCAdvisor.

It so happened that in MWC, OnePlus had no announcements to make. Fans would probably get an insight into the new flagship in one of OnePlus's private launch event. As for other OnePlus 5 rumors regarding its specs, not much is to be told. As always, it would have top of the line hardware with at least a SnapDragon 835 chipset with an octa-core processor. Other than this, further specifications are open to fans' imagination.
