Helena Bonham Carter will be starring as Elizabeth Taylor in an upcoming film and reports are questioning whether or not she will portray the character better than Lindsay Lohan did when she played the iconic figure in the 2012 TV movie Liz & Dick.

BBC America recently released a new image from the movie Burton & Taylor, featuring Carter and Dominic West, who plays Taylor’s ex-husband. The photo released shows Carter wearing heavy makeup and a dangling diamond earring.

The movie relays the relationship between Taylor and Richard Burton that evolved during their appearance in the 1983 revival play Private Lives. The pair, who was married and divorced twice, concluded that their relationship could not be resolved. Carter plays the iconic Taylor, who passed away in 2011 from heart failure.

Will Carter be a better Taylor than Lohan was in 2012?

Lohan was scheduled for a family counseling session at the Betty Ford rehab facility in California last weekend with her parents Dina and Michael Lohan. However, they didn’t show up after getting involved in a fight about taping a segment for talk show The Test. The show, which is aimed to be launched in the fall, uses lie detectors and DNA testing to help people solve arguments over paternity and other issues. When Dina refused to take a polygraph test, Lindsay’s parents feuded when the topic of cheating came up.

Lindsay has completed about 30 out of her 90-day court-ordered rehab treatment
