Ellen Degeneres and her wife, Portia De Rossi, have been facing rumors of an impending split for the past several weeks. However, a report claims Degeneres' career may soon be impacted by the alleged turmoil between them.

As Degeneres and De Rossi remain silent on reports of their alleged split, an insider claimed that the talk show host is ready to give up her series in an effort to save her marriage.

"Ellen has been rethinking everything since turning 59," an insider told OK! Magazine on Thursday. "The big question's been how long she really wants to do this, and the answer is not much longer."

"She's contracted to do the show through May 2020 but after that, she's outta there," the source added.

According to the report, Degeneres has been known to sign four-year contracts, but it appears to be "highly unlikely" that she will agree to remain on air until she turns 68.

"She doesn't have a lot left to prove in the talk show slot, and she's got to put Portia first if she wants her shaky marriage to survive," the insider added.

"[They] always seem to be on the verge of a breakup over one crisis or another," another source told In Touch Weekly.

Degeneres and De Rossi got married in 2008 and share no children together. Although, the couple has faced rumors about possibly starting a family together.

They currently have no plans to do so and that isn't expected to change in the coming years.
