Tessa Thompson is no stranger to the big screen. The young beauty has starred in several blockbuster hits, such as For Colored Girls, Selma, and Creed. Now, she's taking on a different role.

Thompson is set to appear in the latest and final Thor installment, Thor: Ragnarok and The Avengers: Infinity Wars, as Valkyrie, a warrior who becomes a bounty hunter and joins Thor's team to save the galaxy.

Those who are familiar with the storyline of Thor and the character Valkyrie probably already know the significance Thompson's character. However, the Westworld actress spoke recently about the importance of Valkyrie's storyline and if there could a possible spin-off.

"She's bi, and yes, she cares very little about what men think of her. 'What a joy to play,'" she tweeted, confirming the character's sexual orientation. "What was more important [was] that they found someone that captured the spirit of Valkyrie. In this case, she happens to look like me," Thompson added.

Thompson began her career in theater, performing in Shakespeare's Tempest. Her first film role was in the remake of When A Stranger Calls in 2006.

Thompson has already given the idea of Valkyries having her own film, with a team of all-female characters, banding together to save the world.

"I'm really into Valkyrie when she's a part of The Fearless Defenders," she reveals, referencing a run of comic books in which Valkyrie teamed up with the likes of Misty Knight and Warrior Woman. "I think it would be fantastic to have an all-star female team which includes Brie Larson," she suggests, as well as Black Panther stars Angela Bassett and Danai Gurira. "Let's get Tilda Swinton. Lupita [Nyong'o] is in there. Just a really badass group of women."

Critics have started hailing the actress as the 'star' of the film, citing her to be 'cool' and 'fun'.

Thor: Ragnarok: picks up from where the second film, Dark World left off, with Thor looking for the 'infinity stones' and once again battling his brother/nemesis, Loki. In addition to the A-list cast, Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/ The Hulk) will appear in this film with Chris Hemsworth who plays Thor.

Thor: Ragnarok will be in theaters, Nov. 8, 2017!
