This Is Us Season 2 has left viewers with a massive cliffhanger at the end of episode 10 titled "Number Three."

The installment featured a flashback centered on a young Randall (Niles Fitch) scouting for schools for college. He and his dad, Jack (Milo Ventimiglia), visited Howard University in Washington, D.C. in hopes that he could go to school there.

In the present time, Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and his wife, Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson), talked about their desire to adopt a baby. They recently said goodbye to their first adopted daughter, Deja (Lyric Ross). However, the major cliffhanger from episode 10 didn't have anything to do with Randall, but with his brother, Kevin (Justin Hartley).

Kevin Pearson's Addiction

Previously, it was revealed that Kevin has become addicted to painkillers after he injured his knee during a filming for a movie. He has also become hooked on alcohol, which was triggered by the fact that he never mourned his dad's death.

Unfortunately for Kevin, he is not one to ask for help or support from his family and friends. When he tried doing so in episode 9, Kevin was surprised by Randall's revelation that their sister, Kate (Chrissy Metz), lost her baby. This gave Kevin a reason to once again take his painkillers and drink alcohol excessively.

In one of the scenes from Tuesday night's episode, Kevin was in the car with his niece, Tess (Eris Baker). He sped up on the road and drove while he was heavily intoxicated. He got arrested for DUI, and Randall and Beth soon found out that Tess was with him. The couple got pissed at Kevin for risking his life, as well as the life of their eldest child.

Will Kevin Survive?

Episode 10 ended with a cliffhanger regarding Kevin's fate. As of late, it is still unclear whether or not he will finally seek the help of a professional.

"He has a massive depression and an addiction. This man's on a bad path and when I say a bad path, I'm not talking about he's going to do more pills. These people don't live very long," said Hartley.

Randall and Kevin will also have a complicated relationship when This Is Us returns next year. "When we revisit the relationship between the two brothers, there's a tension, but Randall's doing the best he can to be present for his brother, who's going through one of the worst times of his life," Brown teased.
