When fans last saw Scheana Marie on season five of Vanderpump Rules, the reality star was putting an end to her two-year marriage to Mike Shay after suspecting he had relapsed.

Although Shay ultimately denied that he was anything other than sober, his relationship with the SUR Restaurant waitress came to an end last year. During an appearance on KTLA 5 Morning News on Thursday, Scheana Marie opened up about their marriage.

"I was definitely naive about a lot of things. There were a lot of signs that I ignored — things with his addiction and things I was very uneducated on," she said. "So I'm now a lot more educated on addiction. I know things to look for and I think that is one of the biggest things that I got out of it."

In January, after facing backlash for discussing Shay's past addiction struggles on the fourth and fifth seasons of Vanderpump Rules, Scheana Marie revealed that her decision to go public with Shay's problems helped tons of other people deal with their own substance abuse issues.

"Even with his addiction and the substance abuse, thousands of people reached out to us via email, Twitter, or Instagram, just saying how inspiring it was that we spoke out about this on a public platform and how much we were able to help them and now they were seeking help and how they were able to come out to their family about their addiction problems."

Because of the messages from fans, Scheana Marie said that she had no regrets about going public with Shay's addiction and knows she did the right thing.

Scheana Marie and Mike Shay's divorce was finalized in May and months prior, in February of this year, the reality star went public with her new boyfriend, Robert Parks-Valletta, who she was first seen with in December of last year.

While Scheana Marie and Robert Parks-Valletta seemed to be going strong for months, the season six trailer for Vanderpump Rules showed Lala Kent accusing him of cheating and weeks ago, the couple called it quits.

For more of Scheana Marie, her former boyfriend Robert Parks-Valletta, and their co-stars, including Stassi Schroeder, Jax Taylor, Lala Kent, Tom Sandoval, Kristen Doute, Tom Schwartz, Katie Maloney, Lisa Vanderpump, and James Kennedy, don’t miss the sixth season of Vanderpump Rules, which premieres on Monday, Dec. 4, at 9 p.m. on Bravo TV.
