Jennifer Lawrence was one of the many celebrity women who have been publicly shamed by the exposure of her nude photos. The actress' pictures were leaked onto the internet in 2014 but the Oscar-winning star hasn't let the incident define her.

Lawrence is reclaiming her identity and self-confidence in her latest film, Red Sparrow, and is defending her choice to bare it all in some risque scenes.

Lawrence Takes Back Her Life

The actress sat down with Vanity Fair for their March issue where she talked about the empowerment she felt being nude on set despite her leaked photo controversy.

"I tried to do the movie without nudity but realized it just wouldn't be right to put the character through something that I, myself, am not willing to go through," the 27-year-old stated

Lawrence also claimed that while she filmed one scene in particular for Red Sparrow -- where her character showed no mercy by bearing it all in front of her classmates, she said that it wasn't awkward as the film's director, Francis Lawrence, helped her adjust to being exposed on set.

"One is my choice, I got something back that was taken from me, and it also felt normal. [Francis Lawrence] looked me right in the eyes like I had clothes on and then all of a sudden I was like, 'Oh, OK, it's just like I have clothes on. Everybody here is professional. You're still at work. One look just made me comfortable. It didn't make me feel naked," Lawrence continued.
