'X-Men: Days of Future Past' was originally set for release for July 18, 2014 but the movie has a new and earlier premiere date.

According to Box Office Mojo, the movie will now be released on May 23, 2014, just in time for Memorial Day weekend.

The movie is currently filming in Montreal, Canada. Nicholas Hoult who plays Beast in the film was seen getting into character on June 6. Photos caught the Beast in a big fountain fighting Magneto, who is played by Michael Fassbender.

Hoult previously spoke about his character's wild transformation in a 2011 interview with BleedingCool.com.

"Before the transformation, when I'm just Hank, that's me and there's some CGI on the feet and toes. And then, once the transformation to Beast takes place, that's four hours of make-up and prosthetics with a full mask and wigs and fur and a big rubber muscle suit. That's quite a transformation," he said.

His ex-girlfriend and current co-star Jennifer Lawrence was also photographed in her blue costume as Mystique on June 3. See a photo here.

Unlike in 2011's X-Men: First Class, this time around, Lawrence's costume isn't made from body paint, which would take about seven hours to apply.

"I had a theory of when I was really tired, when I was on my seventh hour, why didn't you just dip me in a bath tub of blue?" she had said in a DVD extra about her costume in First Class.

Filming the sequel has been easier for the Oscar winning actress.

"I'm so excited because I'm going to wear a body suit," Lawrence had told E Online in February about her costume. "It will be from neck down so it will cut out time and the blisters."

With the film's new release date, Days of Future Past will be in competition with Blended, a romantic comedy re-uniting Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. The two played together in 1998's The Wedding Singer.
