It’s not too often that fans get to hear Jay-Z brag about his children. The rapper couldn’t help but rave about his and Beyonce’s oldest child in a recent interview.

Jay-Z's Touching Moment With Blue Ivy

Jay-Z, who's bringing the kids and their nannies on tour, stopped by one of Netflix’s newest series, My Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman. The former late-night talk show host asked Jay-Z how he feels when he likens his rough childhood to the fabulous life of his three children, 6-year-old Blue Ivy, and 10-month-old twins Rumi and Sir.

Jay-Z said that he’s just grateful that his children are not only well-off but healthy and intelligent. He shared a story about one of his moments with Blue Ivy in which he told her to get in the car. He said she was asking a ton of questions and they were going to be late to drop her off at school. He said he got emotional when Blue Ivy expressed her feelings about the moment to him.

“We’re driving and I just a hear a little voice,” said Jay-Z. ‘“Dad.’ I turn around and she said, ‘I don’t like when you told me to get in the car the way you told me.’ She’s 6!”

He went on to say that Blue Ivy told Jay-Z that the way he spoke to her didn’t make her feel good.

“That’s the most beautiful thing you’ve ever said to me,” Jay-Z said he told his daughter.

A Special Father And Daughter Bond

Jay-Z revealed more of his special relationship with Blue Ivy in a previous interview. He said the child is his biggest supporter and said that that’s his inspiration to do his best.

He added that her authentic honesty is what causes him to want to improve because she’s not aware of how her approval makes him feel. She just likes the music.

Fans heard Blue Ivy’s rapping skills in "Blue's Freestyle" from Jay-Z’s latest album 4:44. Jay-Z gushed about it in an interview and said it was one of his fondest memories.

Jay-Z Compliments Donald Trump

Jay-Z also briefly talked about President Donald Trump during the interview with Letterman. He actually commended Trump for creating a conversation with his actions that are often described as controversial. He said people wouldn’t be discussing typically taboo topics if Trump didn’t expose them.

“[Trump] is bringing out an ugly side of America that we wanted to believe was gone,” said the rapper.
